Rev. Rick Vollema was installed as the Called Minister to serve Pleasant Valley Reformed Church as Pastor in Spring of 2009. 

The attributes that best describe Pastor Rick as a pastor are Biblical preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Pleasant Valley Reformed Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Rev. Rick Vollema takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.

Rev. Rick Vollema has served as ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America since 1998. Previously, he worked as an electrical engineer for both Ford & GM. He loves ministry and does it more as a life than a job. Now being disabled, he continues to seek ways to minister through volunteering, using his deep, pleasant voice for vocals and preaching when able, and doing some writing. Rev. Vollema resides in Fern, IA with Betsy, his wife of nearly 40 years. He enjoys all things automotive and continual learning.
